Brent is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Excel Development Group. Brent is responsible for all Excel operations, including Property Management services, Development services, Affordable Housing services and Consulting services. EXCEL specializes in the use of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, the Federal HOME program, as well as other state programs, to successfully develop private and public projects that provide housing for low-to-moderate income citizens in communities of all sizes. He is responsible for all phases of this process from obtaining funding, acquiring land, overseeing the installation of infrastructure though construction completion. Brent currently serves on the Governor’s Commission for Housing and Homelessness and the Nebraska Housing Developers Association Board.
JIM OSTRANDER, C.P.A.
Jim is Chief Financial Officer for EXCEL Development Group. Jim is responsible for company and client financial services including all financial aspects of EXCEL’s project development services.
Paula is the Development Director for affordable housing projects in Nebraska. Paula brings 10 years experience at the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, where she managed the HOME, CDBG and Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust (NAHTF) Fund Programs. Paula was also the HOME Set-aside Manager for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program. She has reviewed HOME, CDBG, NAHTF and LIHTC Applications for funding. Paula assists in the preparation and submission of detailed applications for Low Income Housing Tax Credits, HOME & Trust Funds, as-well-as other funding sources. Paula is responsible for pre-development activities such as identifying potential communities for projects, mobilizing community support and supportive services for affordable housing developments, securing site control, and preparing applications for funding. Paula is a Certified Housing Development Finance Professional as well as a Certified HOME Program Specialist in Regulations and Administration.
Bill is the Development Director for affordable housing projects in Kansas. Bill brings 6 years experience at Kansas Equity Fund, now known as Midwest Housing Equity Group, where he was the Kansas Executive Director and was responsible for syndicating the equity for low income housing tax credit projects. Included in his responsibilities were raising investor funds (over $75 million in 4 funds), identifying projects for investments and overseeing the projects (over 45 projects and 900 units) from an investor’s perspective from the pre-application phase through closing the investment at construction completion. This included independent market and site evaluation, financial feasibility, financial capacity of developers and other partners, application review, due diligence collection and review, construction inspection, project closing coordination and project specific marketing plans. Before that, he spent 7 years as President of Kansas Development Finance Authority, where he oversaw the issuance of over $1 billion revenue bonds for public and private purposes. Bill also has 25 years of commercial banking experience at the executive level. Bill is a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) and has participated in the tax credit compliance program offered by the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation.
Jennifer is the Development Director for affordable housing projects in Oklahoma. Jennifer brings 4 years experience with Community Housing Association for Rehabilitation Measures and Effective Development where she was the Executive Director. Jennifer managed the daily operations of a Community Housing Development Organization including grants awarded for Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation, Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Tax Credit Developments. Jennifer is a Certified Homebuyer Education Professional.
Ken is the Housing Programs Project Coordinator at EXCEL Development Group. Ken works closely with the President and the Development Directors to provide development due diligence for lenders and tax credit syndicators, as well as assisting in securing financing for each project. Ken is also involved in all facets of project development.
Kurt is the Construction Manager for EXCEL Development Group. Formerly responsible for Property Maintenance Management, Kurt is responsible for the oversight of all construction related activities including new residential, commercial, and rehabilitation projects.
DEBRA HOLCOMB is the Housing Programs Compliance Manager. Debra reviews the new tenant applications, has oversight of the annual recertification process and is responsible for compliance from all funding sources including, but not limited to LIHTC, HOME, Trust Funds and AHP. She is involved in all steps of the project lease-up, ongoing occupancy and property compliance. Debra is a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), National Compliance Professional (NCP) and Certified Credit Compliance Professional (C4P).
Pat is the Property Maintenance Manager at EXCEL Development Group. Pat is responsible for managing ongoing building maintenance under the requirements of the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit program.
Stephanie is the Staff Accountant for Excel Development Group. She has primary responsibility for accounting operations for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit properties. Stephanie brings over nine years accounting experience to Excel Development Group. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wyoming and an MBA from Baker University in Overland Park, KS.
James is the Leasing Agent for EXCEL Development Group and is responsible for the advertising, marketing and leasing for all projects.
Inta is a Compliance Associate for Excel Development Group. She is responsible for processing tenant recertifications and works closely with our compliance department on tax credit projects and leasing.
Tammy is a Compliance Associate for Excel Development Group. She is responsible for processing new tenant applications and works closely with our compliance department on tax credit projects and leasing. She has 13 years of property management experience for commercial properties in Nebraska, Florida, Colorado and Nevada. She has an Associate Degree in Business Administration.
Jada is a Compliance Associate for Excel Development Group. She is responsible for processing new tenant applications, provides administrative support and works closely with our compliance department on tax credit projects and leasing.
Beverly is the Compliance and Leasing Associate for Excel’s Oklahoma properties. Beverly joined the Excel team in May of 2012 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. As the Compliance and Leasing Associate, Beverly is responsible for leasing Oklahoma Excel properties, processing new tenant applications and ensuring compliance for the Oklahoma properties.
Peggy is the Administrative Assistant / Receptionist for Excel Development Group. She assists the compliance department and development team on tax credit projects.
